Objectives

In line with Sydani policies, this role will provide leadership and high-level communication concerning the management of Sydani’s relationship with its stakeholders, especially high-level stakeholders. The individual will constantly liaise with stakeholders and resolve any issues that may arise to ensure quality project outcomes.


Scope of work  

The focal persons will be expected to work with stakeholders from at least 6 states depending on the geo-political zone.

and will be expected to perform the following:

• Provide leadership in the management of the organization’s relationship with clients/stakeholders in the state of assignment.

• Work closely with the program teams to ensure seamless communication between teams and stakeholders.

• Effectively negotiate with stakeholders to obtain buy-in and continuous collaboration across projects.

• Coordinates and manages all stakeholder relationship-related tasks and deliverables for projects.

• Support project teams by participating in virtual and in-person meetings with relevant stakeholders for project updates.

• Conduct debriefs of project outcomes to stakeholders at intervals during the life of the project.

• Assist with refining and implementing stakeholder engagement plans across all program components.

• Contribute to internal program reporting and monthly report writing.

• And all other duties as may be assigned by the supervising manager.


Deliverables

• An engagement work plan of how tasks will be carried out in the various states based on projects and their duration.

• Monthly reports of engagements with clients/stakeholders

• Monthly debriefs of zonal activities with supervising manager and team leads in designated state projects.

• Bi-weekly check-ins with project teams and clients


Expected duration of assignment

The assignment will be a contract job which will be for six (6) months initially and subject to renewal after a satisfactory performance within the review period.

Institutional arrangement

The focal person shall report to an assigned manager at the head office


For performance management and accountability, the Relationship manager will work with the supervising manager to develop and agree on a program-specific scope of work and deliverables. These would inform the development of program-specific KPIs to be tracked, along with the technical responsibilities of the Relationship manager for performance review and performance improvement.  

Duty station

Focal persons will work remotely from their states of residence which are expected to be domiciled in the designated zones after deployment. The focal person will be physically present in the country office for the first month in the pre-deployment phase for onboarding of organizational policies and procedures. The individuals will also be onboarded on the projects in their designated states by project team leads within this month.


Qualification/experience

• Required:  First degree in social sciences or arts/humanities  

• Desirable: Masters/ Advanced Certification in strategic communication, international relations and sociology, master’s degree or PHD in public health

• Work experience: Minimum of 10 years’ experience working with stakeholders and at least 5 years engaging with top level management.

• An established working relationship with the State Ministry of Health or Primary Health Care Development Agencies is desirable  

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with fluency in written and spoken English

• Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills

• Must possess strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and thought leadership abilities  

• Reliable relationship and stakeholder manager, able to promote team building and collaboration  

• Advanced proficiency with Ms. Office suite  

• Must be able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment


Language

Ability to speak the preferred/dominant language in the zonal region
