Role Description

The Learning and Development Specialist will be responsible for identifying, deploying, evaluating, and reporting on capacity-building interventions for the staff in the organization by updating and consolidating training needs assessments (TNA), coordinating the development of training syllabi, support the training of staff across cadres based on the findings of the TNA, and evaluate the outcome/impact of the capacity building interventions for staff performance optimization.


Job Responsibilities


  1. Collaborate with the Senior Management team to understand organizational goals and tailor programs accordingly.
  2. Support the design and development of customized training programs and learning materials.
  3. Develop and implement strategic plans for the organization's long-term capacity building.
  4. Establish monitoring and evaluation frameworks to measure program impact.
  5. Organizes and designs learning events associated with various activities.
  6. Execute appropriate agreed-upon tasks under the Learning and Institutional Capacity component for collaborating, learning, and adapting (CLA) inclusion into tasks and for implementing requests and resource needs.
  7. Design and facilitate learning sessions under the learning agenda for Sydani Group's programs, operational, technology, evaluation and research teams, among other audiences.
  8. Design methodologies that guide learning and capacity-building meetings through the use of participatory techniques.
  9. Develop training processes on the Collaborative, Learning, and Adaptation approach.
  10. Support the formulation of action plans for Sydani Group's Activity teams under the Collaborative, Learning and Adaptation approach.
  11. Identify good practices for collaboration, learning and adaptation for Sydani Group activities and systematize lessons learned.
  12. Other duties as assigned.
  13. Establish monitoring and evaluation frameworks to measure program impact.
  14. Working closely with project staff to coach relevant staff in gathering, analyzing, and assessing data and information to measure capacity performance and impact.


Required Qualifications and Competencies


  1. Required: Bachelor’s or higher university degree in relevant subject areas including organizational development, international development, public administration, business administration, education, or a related field
  2. Minimum of 4 years experience conducting Training Needs Assessment (TNA) and facilitating the implementation of capacity-building interventions.
  3. Excellent project management and organizational abilities.
  4. Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  5. Demonstrate problem-solving and strategic planning capabilities.
  6. Excellent skills in facilitation and systematization of workshops, participatory or collaborative methodologies aimed at various audiences, organizational learning, and capacity building.
  7. Experience with online and in-person modalities is highly preferred.
  8. Experience working on a monitoring and evaluation activity is highly preferred.
  9. Strong English oral and written communication skills.
