Position: IT Intern 

Reports to: Senior IT Analyst

Location: Abuja 

Job description 

The IT intern will primarily provide first-level IT support to Sydani staff and clients. He/she will undertake fewer technical tasks while learning practical IT skills (such as web design, network engineering, systems design, Python, JavaScript, problem-solving etc.) and receiving mentorship from more experienced colleagues. Over time, he/she will be given the responsibility to design or create elements that will be used in Sydani’s systems or solutions. 

Responsibilities: Specific duties include 

1. Facilitate the installation, configuration, monitoring, and repairs of Sydani computer systems 
2. Troubleshoot and resolve issues with software or hardware with colleagues and clients 
3. Participate in problem-solving sessions to provide fresh, technical perspectives to ongoing projects/workstreams  
4. Support the development of new solutions for Sydani’s clients or systems to support Sydani operations  
5. Undertake other tasks assigned by the senior IT Analyst 

Required competencies: 

1. Experience providing IT support 
2. Expertise with Microsoft Windows, 365 and Office Administration 
3. Basic network engineering, math, logical and analytical skills 
4. Basic knowledge of computer hardware 
5. Willingness to problem-solve issues and see tasks through to completion 
6. Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment 

Required Qualifications  

1. Bachelor’s degree (First- or second-class upper) from a recognized university in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other IT-related degrees. 
2. Minimum One (1) year of experience in a technical support role
