Job Description 

The facility officer will oversee all building-related activities, will be responsible for preserving the good condition of infrastructure, and will ensure that facilities are safe and well-functioning while optimizing the use of equipment to reduce operating costs. 

The facility officer will ensure our business’s accommodation is problem-free and safe so that employees can work under the best conditions.  


Job Responsibilities 

Note: The duties and responsibilities described below are inexhaustive. Additional tasks may be assigned as necessitated by business demands. 

  1. Plan and coordinate all installations (telecommunications, heat, electricity etc.) and refurbishments
  2. Manage the upkeep of equipment and supplies to meet health and safety standards
  3. Inspect buildings’ structures to determine the need for repairs or renovations 
  4. Review utility consumption and strive to minimize costs
  5. Supervise all facilities staff (security guards, technicians, cleaners, etc.) and external contractors
  6. Control and supervise activities like parking space allocation, waste disposal, building security, etc. 
  7. Maintain compliance and ensure that facilities meet government regulations, health and security standards, and energy efficiency requirements
  8. Develop monitoring systems or programs to detect problems in the initial stage
  9. Initiate interventions to solve problems in the facilities
  10. Develop a schedule for regular monitoring and evaluation of the facility
  11. Participate in the development of policies and procedures affecting usage supplies and facilities
  12. Prepare and implement an annual budget for repairs and facility maintenance
  13. Oversee procurement, maintenance, and upgrade of the overall facility as required


Qualifications and Competences 

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Facility Management, Business Administration, or similar fields.  
  2. Minimum of 3-5 years experience as a facility officer or relevant position 
  3. Proficiency in MS Office (MS Excel and MS PowerPoint) 
  4. Attention to detail and problem-solving skills. 
  5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  6. Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task 
  7. Well-versed in basic technical operations and facilities management best practices
