The Sydani Group is currently seeking the following roles for the Africa CDC Project

Role: State Lead

State: Taraba, Bayelsa, Lagos, Rivers, and Ondo

Role description

The state lead will oversee the RI and Covid-19 vaccination activities in the state under the supervision of the national coordinator. S/he will supervise and monitor the engaged COVID-19 & RI vaccination teams operating in the state as well as ensure collaboration with relevant stakeholders at the state level.


Responsibilities:

  1. Provide the overall leadership, strategic guidance, vision, and management to the state team for successful implementation
  2. Develop monthly project implementation reports
  3. Address all client obligations, including quality report writing
  4. Provide overall guidance and administrative management of the program at the state level
  5. Supervise project staff and vaccination teams in the state
  6. Address meeting agreement obligations, producing deliverables, targets and achieving project results as specified on the SoW
  7. Oversee project planning, provides technical direction and support, and ensure implementation, with a focus on results, and financial accountability for all project activities
  8. Communicate with state-level stakeholders regularly on project updates and progress made


Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s degree (First or second-class upper) from a recognized university with at least 5 years of professional experience in the health or development sector
  2. Masters in Public Health, health financing, health economics, health policy, and management, or related fields will be an advantage
  3. Must have demonstrable competency in leading teams and providing excellent management and supervisory services
  4. Experience in immunization and COVID-19 vaccination programs is an advantage
  5. Experience managing capacity-building projects or other similar projects.


Additional requirements

  1. Must be resident in the state of assignment (Taraba, Bayelsa, Ondo, Rivers & Lagos)
  2. Must be fluent in the local language in the state of assignment (Taraba, Bayelsa, Ondo, Rivers & Lagos)
  3. Experience working on a USAID-funded project/sub-project is highly desirable
  4. Strong English report writing skills and presentation skills



Role:  M&E officer/Data Manager

State: Taraba, Bayelsa, Lagos, Rivers, and Ondo,

Role description

The state M&E officer/Data manager will report directly to the state lead ensuring that COVID-19 and RI vaccination data are readily available and analyzed in an aggregated way to aid decision-making at the state level and meet project objectives.


Responsibilities:

  1. Design and implement a comprehensive monitoring and evaluation system operational at the state level
  2. Develop a comprehensive reporting framework with provisions for rigorous impact assessment
  3. Develop or adapt data collection instruments and tools for state COVID-19 vaccination and RI activities
  4. Aggregate and analyze project data weekly, monthly, and at the end of the project indicating the number of persons/children vaccinated with COVID-19 and RI vaccines
  5. Develop and manage dashboards to track daily output by vaccination teams as per allocated targets
  6.  Disseminate analysis and data reports to relevant stakeholders at the state level weekly
  7. Support and guide staff on the use of ODK mobile application and troubleshoot the mobile application or their mobile device errors
  8. Conduct regular supervision visits to mass vaccination points and sites for mobile outreaches for data validation
  9.  Design training sessions and development on training materials for Recorders on the use of the ODK/Kobo Collect
  10. Provide technical direction for documentation of all COVID-19 vaccines and adverse events from immunization (AEFI) notification using NPHCDA templates and national guidelines


Qualification:

  1.  Bachelor’s degree (First or second-class upper) from a recognized university in a relevant field such as public health, statistics, economics, etc.
  2.  At least two years of experience managing large data sets
  3.  Excellent use of Microsoft suites such as Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and other visual analytical software such as PowerBi, Tableau
  4.  Demonstrated experience in implementing vaccine data management and other health interventions
  5. Ability to use national-level data such as DHIS 2, EMID, etc.
